The Acton School of Business (Acton) is looking for exceptional entrepreneur teachers who want to change the world.
We are looking for:

Our Teaching Style and Curriculum
We take a no-nonsense, hard-lined approach to decision making in the real world of business. Our teachers strongly emphasize the importance of the case learning process by incorporating it into their preparation and class discussions. We use the case method approach exclusively in the Acton classroom.
Feedback and transparency play a crucial role in developing outstanding teachers and courses.
A rigorous use of the case method:
- Forces students to examine options and decisions vital to the success of strong businesses.
- Promotes collaboration and experiential learning.
- Challenges students to take a stand and back up decisions with evidence.
- Teaches students how to approach business decisions with a line of questioning that exposes viable options to consider.
- Requires students to actively participate in study groups and class discussions.
We believe our primary mission is to provide students with innovative solutions to real-world problems to help them develop world-class businesses.
Qualifications to Teach
- Be a successful entrepreneur, have successfully run a company as senior management, or advised a company at this level.
- Be dedicated to teaching using the Harvard case method.
- Be willing to serve as a Practitioner Teacher for a period of at least one year while training with present faculty.
- Be willing to attend a Case Teacher Training seminar.
- Exhibit exceptional character, high ethical standards and a high work ethic.
- Hold an advanced degree from a top-tier school.
What We Owe Ourselves and Our Students
Our group is a collegial band of dedicated teachers. To one another, we owe a commitment to a process that continually improves the quality of classroom teaching. This means inviting colleagues into your classroom, visiting theirs, as well as accepting and providing constructive feedback. Our teachers regularly attend meetings and seminars designed to improve case teaching skills.
To students, we owe the same commitment to learning that we ask of them. This means putting our commitment to students above personal and professional obligations. Our teachers set high standards and clear expectations, provide feedback to students and regularly ask students for written feedback on their performance.
The Rewards of Teaching
There are many rewards to teaching. Inspiring students to find a purpose in life, develop critical skills, and establish moral boundaries are worthy goals. But the rewards of human development do not stop with students. Re-working old ideas and exploring new concepts helps our entrepreneur teachers continue to develop their own intellectual powers.
The investment required to become a member of Acton's Entrepreneurial Teaching Group is significant, but except for parenthood, there is no other place where the timeless lessons of morality, success and human development can be passed along to a new generation.
