Acton MBA in Entrepreneurship Is Featured in the Latest Issue of Forbes Magazine
Austin, Texas – February 15, 2005 – The Acton MBA in Entrepreneurship program, an innovative leader in graduating qualified entrepreneurs into the business world, is featured in the current issue of Forbes magazine.
Author Phyllis Berman chronicles the history of the Acton MBA and highlights one of its goals of giving “MBA candidates real-life experiences to help them start their own business or run somebody else’s.” Berman writes about how “Acton is different from the ground up” than other MBA programs around the country.
“This is powerful validation of the impact we are trying to have on tomorrow’s business leaders. The Acton MBA challenges students to stand in the shoes of an entrepreneur every day, teaching skills that add value to a company from day one,” said Jeff Sandefer, founder and one of the Master Teachers of the program.
Acton expresses that philosophy in other ways beyond its standard 9-month program. On Feb. 17-18, Acton, in conjunction with Babson College, will present an Executive Education session at Acton’s facilities in Austin, which is expected to draw executive from throughout the state of Texas. Among the topics that will be addressed are sessions on “how entrepreneurs should set priorities” and “how staging capital and other deals can expand the pie.”
Acton will be in Houston, Dallas and Austin over the next month presenting information sessions about the Acton MBA in Entrepreneurship program. More information can be obtained at the following link: http://www.actonmba.com/joinus_information.php
About Acton MBA in Entrepreneurship
The Acton MBA in Entrepreneurship, based in Austin, Texas, is in only its second year of operations. The one-year program is taught by successful entrepreneurs and features intensive 80 to 90 hour work weeks, where students tackle real world problems and even sell products door-to-door. The student-faculty ratio is lower than any MBA program in the country, allowing students to develop strong bonds with their entrepreneur mentors. The Princeton Review recently ranked the Acton MBA in Entrepreneurship program the third-best MBA faculty in the country, while designating its MBA students as America’s “most competitive.” For more information see: www.actonmba.org
