Acton School of Business Forms an Angel Network
Every year, the Acton School of Business, the nation’s only MBA school that is tailored to entrepreneurship, graduates young men and women that are supremely qualified to start their own businesses.
Many of these graduates emerge from school with a well-conceived business plan that lacks growth capital.
In its continuing effort to help its graduates after they have completed their education, Acton announced today the formation of an Angel Network, which will officially begin reviewing the business plans of Acton alumni at a half-day event on February 22 at the Driskill Hotel. The schedule that day calls for a review of business plans from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., followed by a cocktail party until 7 p.m.
Investors interested in participating in the network should contact Georgia Spaeth at gspaeth@actonmba.org.
Spaeth said that while providing alumni with access to capital is one goal of the event, there is another objective that is equally important.
“We are encouraging current Acton students to attend and get a real-world educational experience,” Spaeth said. “They’ll have an opportunity to see well-thought out business plans and get a glimpse into how the investment community will analyze those plans. It’s just another way to prepare our current students for their life after Acton.”
The Austin, Texas, based Acton MBA in Entrepreneurship is offered through Hardin Simmons University.
