Acton to Offer Its Nationally Recognized 'Life of Meaning' Class to the Public with a Series of Lunch Programs
AUSTIN, Texas (July 25, 2008) - The Acton MBA in Entrepreneurship (www.actonmba.org), in partnership with the Acton Foundation for Entrepreneurial Excellence, will offer its nationally recognized Life of Meaning class to the Austin community through a series of lunch programs this fall.
The session will be held the last Friday of each month, beginning this Friday, July 25, at Norris Conference Center (2525 West Anderson Lane). To register for the program, visit http://www.acton-life-of-meaning.org/register/.
“Through the years, Austin has been the perfect home for Acton,” said Acton’s Executive Director, Georgia Spaeth. “This is a chance for us to give back to the Austin community.”
“These sessions are designed to help participants explore their strengths, tap into their inspiration and map out a career path. The Life of Meaning Lunch Program combines the best insights from wisdom literature, neuroscience, and successful business leaders to propel you on a journey of self-discovery.”
The lunch programs are an adaption of the course that Acton students take. The format, however, is different as the schedule calls for a live band and a slam poet! In addition, the sessions will be led by social entrepreneur Ted Beasley. Beasley a co-founder of Gateway Church, an innovative congregation of over 4,000 attendees in Austin, TX, is a Master Executive Coach at Giant Leaders where he has coached hundreds of emerging and senior leaders in the corporate, entertainment, media, nonprofit, and government arenas. Beasley holds an MBA from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas.
“We are honored to have Ted Beasley, who has been a sounding board and a source of wisdom for countless executives and other individuals in the Austin community,” said Spaeth.
Beasley, who trained with Acton Master Teacher Steven Tomlinson to teach the course, will hold the reigns of a program that has earned national accolades from the likes of the Princeton Review. The publication noted earlier this year that “the Acton program is built upon three pillars,” including learning how to live a life of meaning.” The Princeton Review went on to quote an Acton student, who said “Acton helps us learn about ourselves by aiding us in our search for our true calling in life.”
Beasley said he was honored to be teaching the course for Acton. Steven Tomlinson has done a remarkable job of creating this dynamic component for the Acton MBA program, said Beasley. “Now we have a tremendous opportunity to extend this message to the Austin community and make a difference in peoples lives.”
