As a member of a family that relocated often, Helen Mitchell has traveled or lived in five different continents. The constant transitions of her youth sparked an interest in international business and policy that Helen was able to fine tune at Loyola University in New Orleans.
In 2002, Helen joined the Cato Institute where she worked on its Project for Social Security Choice and was a major contributor to the award-winning, "Social Security and Its Discontents", a collection of studies on free-market alternatives to the Social Security system.
After being awarded a research grant for the Liberalni Institute, Helen moved to Prague where she developed international fundraising efforts for the Institute while co-authoring the paper "International Perspectives on Individual Health Accounts." Helen's paper focused on alternatives to the government-run universal health and sickness insurance in the Czech Republic.
After graduating from Acton in 2006, Helen joined the staff of the Foundation for Entrepreneurial Excellence (FEE). As Director of Outreach, Helen helps entrepreneurs and professors adopt and institute FEE's entreprenerial curriculum at universities across the country.
