Acton School of Business Sets Record with Incoming Class: MBA School for Entrepreneurs Surges in Popularity
06/27/2007

Austin, Texas (June 27, 2007) – The Acton School of Business, the nation’s only MBA school tailored exclusively to entrepreneurship, will set a record this fall when the doors swing open for the incoming class.

Acton has 27 confirmed students, who will begin classes on August 27th. Even more impressive than the sheer number is the makeup of the students, said Georgia Spaeth, Acton’s Executive Director.

“We have more female, minority and international students than we have ever had before,” said Spaeth. “This is a reflection of the reputation for excellence that the school is developing worldwide.”

That popularity has led to a 40 percent increase in applications, allowing the school to be more selective than ever before. Not only has the quantity of applicants increased, but the quality has, as well. “With the increase in applications this year, we were able to raise the bar in terms of the quality of the students accepted into the program,” said Spaeth. “In fact, we were so impressed with the quality of the applications we received that we admitted two more students than we originally planned.”

This will be Acton’s largest and most diverse class yet, setting the foundation for a dynamic classroom in the fall.

“We’re admitting a class of talented individuals, who are ready to take that next step in their personal growth,” said Spaeth. “They are ready to make a difference in the world and we’re excited to help facilitate that goal.”

The Austin, Texas, based Acton MBA in Entrepreneurship is offered through Hardin Simmons University.
