AUSTIN, Texas (Oct. 8, 2007) – The Princeton Review, one of the leading authorities on the best MBA programs in the country, has once again ranked the Acton School of
Business’ MBA in Entrepreneurship (www.actonmba.org) as one of the “best” in multiple categories.
For the fourth year in a row, the esteemed guidebook ranked
Acton’s professors among the top five MBA faculties in the country. Acton was also ranked as one of the top ten “Best Classroom Experiences” in America.
“This
recognition is especially gratifying because the Princeton Review directly surveys student satisfaction and bases its findings on the opinions of actual students,”
said Acton’s Executive Director, Georgia Spaeth. “At Acton, our students are our customers and we are committed to providing them the very best entrepreneurial
education possible. These rankings and other feedback we collect weekly from our students tell us we are right on track.”
Princeton Review ranked Acton as one
of the “Best Classroom Experiences” because of its heavy emphasis on class participation, which makes up more than 50% of each student’s grade, and its focus on using
the case method in the classroom. Acton requires students to stand in the shoes of the entrepreneur and make tough decisions in over 300 real-life business case
studies. Further amplifying the ‘classroom experience’, Acton has innovative, hands-on training such as building real assembly lines and selling actual products
door-to-door; projects that all students must complete in order to graduate.
Consistently ranked highly by the Princeton Review, Acton’s teachers are real-life
entrepreneurs actively running businesses and all are “leaders in their fields with a real heart for teaching.” Acton is the only MBA program in the country where 100%
of the professors are practicing entrepreneurs.
In today’s release of the 2008 rankings, The Princeton Review writes:
“The Acton program is built upon
three pillars: learning to learn, learning how to make money, and learning how to live a life of meaning. Students say the program delivers on all three points and
distinguishes itself by focusing on the personal side of career development. ‘Acton helps us learn about ourselves by aiding us in our search for our true calling in
life — the one thing that we are the best at that intertwines with what the world needs,’ explains one student. ‘This help in our personal lives as well as our
business lives is unparalleled by any other MBA program.’”
The Acton MBA in Entrepreneurship is offered through Hardin Simmons University.
