Venture capitalist and teacher Phil Siegel continues a legacy of teaching excellence. Prior to co-founding Tritium Partners, Phil was a General Partner at Austin Ventures where he spent 14 years helping to launch and build the Growth Equity practice. Previously, Phil was a Partner at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where he spent 11 years in the Chicago and Dallas offices.  His primary focus was in the Consumer and Retail and Financial Services client practices.  Prior to joining BCG, Phil was a senior analyst at BBDO in Chicago.

Phil is a professor in the Acton MBA program and was formerly a professor of entrepreneurship at the University of Texas.  He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Austin Entrepreneurs Foundation. Phil received his BA and MBA from the University of Chicago.

Says Phil, “I love my job and I love building and growing companies.” As the oldest son of two college professors, Phil comes by his passion for teaching naturally. Education was paramount in his family, and he relishes the chance to give something back to the community. “I love teaching the business leaders of tomorrow, so they can be motivated to teach the next generation beyond that,” says Phil. “That’s the mark of a great teacher: they are so good, they motivate their students to become teachers themselves. That’s my ultimate goal.”
