1. Personal Information
All personal information that you submit through our application will remain secure and confidential and will not be used in any way unless we have obtained your permission. By submitting your application, you consent to your personal information being reviewed by our Admissions Team, as well as by Acton’s Admissions Committee.

U.S. Students’ Driver’s License information will eventually be used for criminal background checks. Within the application you are able to authorize the background check via an electronic signature. Please review the Background Check Authorization Form found on the application and electronically sign to agree to the background check. Background checks are required in order to enroll U.S. based students.

2. Personal Questionnaire
You will be asked to complete a brief questionnaire as part of your application. This will take less than 5 minutes and can be taken on your own time. Click on the button in the application to access the questionnaire.

3. Official Transcripts
U.S. Based Students
Official undergraduate transcripts are required in order to consider your application complete. We will need the transcripts from all institutions that you attended during your undergraduate career. If you have a graduate degree, please have your graduate transcripts sent to our Admissions Team in addition to your undergraduate transcripts.

International Students
If you are an international student that graduated with an undergraduate degree from a non-US institution, then you will need to have your transcripts verified by a third party. Please use the course-by-course verification service offered by the World Education Services. Have the verified transcripts sent to our accreditation partner, Hardin-Simmons University, code 6268.

4. Test Scores
We don’t require the GMAT. You have three options to submit test scores depending on whether you’ve previously taken the GMAT and when:

Option 1: Online Diagnostic
The online diagnostic has two parts, Cognitive Abilities and Advanced Skills. Cognitive Abilities measures your innate ability to analyze information in a fast-paced 8-minute exam. Advanced Skills covers the following college-level topics: grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, expressions & equations, fractions, ratios & proportional relationships, algebra, geometry & trigonometry, statistics & probability. The Verbal Portion of Advanced Skills consists of 55 questions within 30 minutes and the Quantitative Portion consists of 50 questions also within 30 minutes. There is no way to prepare for the Cognitive Abilities portion. For the Advanced Skills, we suggest searching for some free graduate level math and verbal assessments to freshen up your skills. If you need to reacquaint yourself with the math topics previously mentioned, we suggest preparing for graduate and/or GMAT level quantitative concepts and questions.

The administration of the diagnostic test takes place completely online at a date and time selected by you. To schedule your diagnostics test, email our Admissions team. On the date of your exam you will receive an email from our office with instructions and an email from the testing service with a link to access the test. You will need a little over 1.5 hours to complete the test.

Option 2: GMAT
If you choose to take and utilize the GMAT as the primary test component of your application, please send an official copy to Hardin-Simmons University (ID:NOH-2D-88) and upload your official score report to the “Test Score” portion of the application.

Option 3: Both
If your GMAT score is over 5 years old and you wish to include in your application, you must also complete Option 2. Additionally, any applicant who wishes to supplement their GMAT score with the Online Diagnostic is welcome to do so. The higher score will be emphasized in your application review. To use both, please notify our admissions staff.

5. Written Essays
When completing the essays for the application, you will need to download the Acton Essay Instructions from the application page. You must answer all three essay questions. Please save a backup of your essays in a document editing program and upload your responses only when you are finished with all of the prompts. This will ensure that you do not lose any data when submitting your essays.

6. Two-minute Video Essay
You are required to complete a 2-minute video essay for the application. The prompts and instructions are located within the Acton Essay Instructions document, which is downloadable within the Application.

7. Three Recommendations
Please reach out to three colleagues, supervisors, professors or personal acquaintances and request for them to fill out a recommendation form. Your recommenders will have the option to upload a written letter of recommendation to supplement the brief form.

When you have received their permission, please submit all of their contact information via the “Submit Recommenders” option on the application at one time. The Admissions Staff will not receive their contact information until you submit the entirety of this form.

8.  $50 Application Fee
